Rare limited build edition

A genuine 1987 911 Supersport. To my knowledge there were around 75 Supersport cars manufactured for the UK market and these were spread across the Coupe, Targa, and convertible models, making this Coupe an extremely rare car. The Supersport was an optional extra (M491) to the specification on the factory 3.2 Carrera, this is a wide body edition which also benefited from uprated turbo suspension and brakes and turbo rear spoiler. Basically a turbo specification, without the turbo.

This is a car I bought personally in January 2016 and although the car was in sound condition and had just had a full engine rebuild including new barrels and piston’s, stud’s and bottom end by Porsche specialists Pro 9, the body work was looking slightly tired and so took the decision to undergo extensive cosmetic restoration. The car was stripped of all its panels and glass and given a bare metal re spray. The wings were replaced along with all seals and trims. The paintwork has been fastidiously and meticulously refinished in stunning Porsche Grand Prix White.

As the car was my own personal project, I then decided to take it to the next level and replace all the original suspension with Bilstein upgraded units. In addition to this, the following have replaced; brake discs, pads & shoes, braided brake hoses, stainless steel exhaust, new alternator, new tyres, new petrol tank. All four wheels have been completely refurbished along with new Porsche crested wheel centres, and new Porsche factory rated tyres.

The interior is resplendent in black leather with white piping to the sports seats , the car is fitted with a “period” 80’s optional MOMO steering wheel, the standard factory supplied steering wheel and Blaupunkt radio/cassette are include. A new, custom made, red indoor cover has been made for the car and is also included in the purchase.

The car was fully serviced by Porsche Strasse Leeds in preparation to drive it to the SPA Classic in Belgium 2017 which performed faultlessly.
In 2018 prior to a trip to the Le Mans Classic, I decided to return to Strasse to have all the suspension lowered and removing the torsion bars for refit as well as some other minor maintenance work.

The renovation work on this vehicle has all been carried out over the last 3 years to an extremely high standard, the total cost being in excess of £30,000.
